Liz and I are excited to launch our brand-new evening meals subscription service. I have put together the most important details to help you decide if this subscription service is for you and your household.

A little bit of background

We started providing evening meals back in 2011 and it’s been amazing to support so many of you. We now provide a whole selection of other services, from buffets and afternoon teas to nutritional therapy consultations. We are always looking at ways to evolve and improve. We have now launched our new subscription service. 


We have had a lot of questions about pricing, so naturally it’s the first thing I wanted to share with you. Our subscription service will be cheaper than our current evening meal option (more information here), our soup and spicy rice boxes will be lower as well and there are even more savings and benefits.

  • It will be just £7.50 per meal, rather than £8.00
  • Soups will be £8.00 rather than £9.00
  • Spicy rice boxes just £7.00 instead of £7.50.

For those of you who subscribe, not only will you be saving money but how you pay will be different too.

So how does it work?

When you subscribe you will pick how many meals you would like to have delivered every week and you will pay for these meals monthly rather than weekly.

Currently, our evening meal clients pay when they place their order, so they need to have their bank details with them whether they place their order over the phone or over through website.

For subscribers, it will be one simple monthly payment, but you will still be enjoying the variety on our weekly menus. (More information on how our menus work here)

How to subscribe?

The first thing you need to do is decide how many meals you would like each week.

We have made this simple for you and have packages of 4,6,8 and 10 meals available on our website. Once decided just click subscribe and check out, here you will pay for the first months subscription then.

After this first payment your subscription amount will come straight out of your bank account, so there is no need to worry about how to manage future payments.

Tailored packages

If you would like a soup, spicy rice box, dessert, or a mixture, alongside your meals, as your subscription package, just let us know and we will set up this tailored package for you, at no extra cost. This will be shared on the website ready for you to subscribe. We aim to have your tailored subscription packages available for you on the website within 24 hours of your letting us know what menu items you would like.

If you are unsure which subscription package you would like we can help you there too. For our current clients we can look back at what you have previously ordered and recommend a subscription package. For our new clients, give Shannon a call (or email) and we’ll find out how you and your household eat, how many people live with you or if you live alone and how many evenings you don’t want to cook. From here we’ll be able to recommend a package or put together a tailored package for you.

So when will the subscription start?

Each subscription package starts on the first Wednesday of the month, when the menu comes out. You need to choose your package and have subscribed through the website by the last Wednesday of the previous month.

Example –

You May subscription will start on Wednesday the 4th of May; you will need to have subscribed through the website by Wednesday the 27th of April.

How easy it to order my meals?

Each Wednesday, we will email you the menu for the following week. All you need to do, is reply with the meals that you would like. From here we will send you a confirmation email and just like that your order has been placed.

For our current clients, who order over the phone you will still be able to. But you can move over to the email system if you would prefer. Of course, we will always be at the end of the phone or email, if you’d like to talk through any of the menu options, talk about what you would like on future menus or to set the world to rights. You can call or email at any time.

Some more key aspect of our subscription service.

The first one being, what if you want extra meals?

Let’s say your favourite dish, our Asian beef and noodles with finely sliced spring onions is on the menu, and you want an extra portion of this, bringing you over your subscribed meals per week.

All you need to do is include this in your email when you place your order, and we will send you an invoice to cover the cost of your extra portions or meals. 

If one week you’d like to double up on the dessert, or add in a dessert, when you see our cherry and chocolate crumble and fancy giving it a try, simply include how many of the desserts you would like in your order email. It’s as easy as that!

What if you want to change your subscription?

If you find over time you would like to change your package just let us know and we can adjust your package, with no interruption to your weekly ordering.

Or, in the unfortunate case that you find that our subscription service doesn’t work for you, just let us know. You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you can give us notice that you’re planning to cancel though, that would be really appreciated.

What happens when our kitchen is closed?

For our subscription service you will pay the same amount every month, whether it is a four-week month or a five-week month. There are roughly four months of the year that are 5 weeks long. But you won’t have to pay any extra during these months. This is because the I Cook You Serve kitchen closes for 4 weeks of the year. One in April, one in august and 2 over Christmas and new year. This helps steady out payments and keep it simple.

  • You pay monthly – this makes everything easier!
  • You still enjoy our weekly menus but order by replying to our email that has the menu on rather than through our website.
  • You can choose from the packages we currently have available or enjoy a tailored package. After a quick chat we can recommend a package if you’re not sure.
  • If you want to order outside your package, simply include this into your order email.
  • Your subscription starts at the beginning of the following month once you have clicked subscribe through the website.
  • Our subscribers will enjoy discounts and offers on our other services.
